Current Public Grant Requests

Help us launch our newest scholarship initiative for deserving reptiles. These scholarships will focus on a combination of need and potential for academic success and are expected to include a mentoring component for students who receive awards to ensure their success.

Turtle Rescue Center
We take in injured turtles and bring them back to health. Depending on the nature of the injuries, we either place them for adoption or release them back into the wild.

This is for general support of the Sawgrass Nature Center and Wildlife Hospital. This will be an undesignated gift to them.

Build an observation platform
help us build an observation platform over the Everglades.

Everglade Conservation Support
Help us with several projects to support the Western Everglades - we are looking to purchase additional wetland areas so they are protected from development and also help us as we work with local authorities on projects to help with local saline levels in the freshwater supply.

Gator Tank Expansion
We are building a gator habitat and observation area. The area will feature a pool/tank and several other features.

This is for general support of the Boys and Girls Club for Broward County. This will be an undesignated gift to them.

This fund is what pays the operational expenses for the Everglades Community Foundation. Gifts here allow us the most flexibility and contribute towards our ongoing sustainability.

This fund allows us maximum flexibility for grantmaking. This allows us to fund our competitive grants and make other grants as necessary for things like emergency relief over the year.

Gator Physical Rehabilitation Area
We want to build an area for physical therapy and rehab for injured gators. For more info on us check our website at this address.
